Christmas Advent Season Reflection

12/15/2015

This year, Christmas came early into town.  All the shops had their Christmas merchandise right next to each other: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and a little bit of Christmas.  Once one of the holidays had come to pass, the following one was encouraged with more merchandise. Now we are in Christmas season ... more specific American Christmas Advent.

For this Christmas season, I have focused on the American Christmas Advent.  I have prepared two bilingual letters that address the events of the birth of Christ Jesus; each of the letters revolved around the theme that was on stationary I had purchased.  One of them focused on "The Royal Family", involving Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus. While the other focused on "The Shepherds", whom were called out by an angel to go and witness the arrival of the baby Jesus.  In preparing for these two letters, I did much research through reference books and history oriented articles, as well as different translations of the Bible.  I learned a lot about the time between the last prophet of God and the coming of the baby Jesus, around 400 years!  I also learned of the hardship and oppression that God's people had endured throughout this time. God's people were in need of a deliverer, redeemer, and savior from it all; especially the oppression from the bonds of sin. God's people were anxiously waiting for Him.  However, many were expecting a man of political and social authoritative power to accomplish all of it; not a baby. However, this expectation could only be accomplished by the orchestrated work of God throughout the silent years.  He would prepare the way for the arrival of Christ Jesus, "the Anointed Savior".

On the other end of the spectrum, I have also focused more on the American Christmas.  I have focused on putting up colorful Christmas lights, reefs, and faux pine trees as well.  In addition, I have focused on getting the right gifts for people, the right one for each one of them.  I've approached it as the last good Christmas I will witness.  There is much physical, political, and faith onslaught in America this year ... a lot of it does not seem to ease off, but instead increase in tension.  It has affected me, and many people in America as well.  It has changed our attitude for how we will celebrate Christmas this year.

This Christmas Advent has begun to stir me up for the aerial Advent of Christ Jesus; when He comes to "snatch-up" all the believers into Heaven ... without even touching the surface of the Earth. Yes, people need to come to know Christ Jesus, before it is too late for them.  Yet, how can they come to know Him, unless they are told about Him?  It is up to us, who have come to know Him, to arise and be spirit-filled with both courage and boldness, and tell people.  The means in which it is done does not matter, but presenting them with the opportunity to come to know Him as their personal Savior does.

In closing, the American Christmas Advent season is coming to a close soon.  However, I encourage you to take this time of the year to share God's gift to the world, Christ Jesus.  Yes, that people may come to know Him personally.
