Christmas time is here. Gifts have been given to loved ones and celebrations have begun. Sounds of cheer and joy resound through the air. Surely, it is Christmas Day. Today we celebrate God’'s love for mankind by sending His son, Jesus, for the liberation from the bonds of sin that both bind their hearts and souls. Only one person could truly fulfill this requirement, a perfect and pure one, without sin in their lives; His name is Jesus.
In the days that Jesus came into this world, there was much affliction and oppression upon the people of God. Yet more severely upon their hearts and souls. They all needed someone who would be willing to go into their lives to both liberate and save them from these bonds. When the time was right, God sent Jesus to fulfill this role, progressively. Jesus came into the lives of mankind as a child, yet developed into a man in the years to come. He did so in order to embrace the human experience as well as being able to engage with mankind at a more personal level. Jesus came to liberate mankind with a soul-kingdom mission, not an a earthly kingdom. However, to achieve this purpose, Jesus died an innocent death so that others could embrace the opportunity to have eternal life in His soul-kingdom. It is because of this sacrifice that mankind now has the opportunity to celebrate and rejoice with joy on Christmas Day.
Although the primary work of Jesus has been completed many years ago, there has always been a human factor, the opportunity to accept or reject Jesus as our liberator and savior from the bonds of sin. Now, am I willing to accept Jesus as the deliverer of both my heart and soul as well as profess Him as such? Am I willing to surrender my sins and life to Jesus ... To live by God’s standards of living? Am I willing to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins, cleanse me, and help me remain in right-standing with God?
Today an opportunity is presented to you to join the chorus of many people who have accepted Jesus as their liberator and savior from the bonds of sin. They all now rejoice and sing with humble admiration to Jesus, the liberator and savior of both their heart and soul. Will you not join them in one accord this Christmas Day?
Let Us Pray. Dear God, today is Christmas day. I want to thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to mankind so that they can be delivered from the bonds of sin. Today I want to also humble myself before Jesus and accept Him as my liberator and savior; join the chorus and rejoice with joy! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
