In the U.S., it is fairly feasible to communicate with other people. A person can utilize a computer, phone, or radio. Yet, with all the present technology, it seems that the simplicity of meeting with someone has become more of a challenge than in days of old. Such has been my case in meeting with God; especially when I am faced with challenges.
I work for God as a "Minister of Christian Literature"; my self-appointed title. In other words, I help guide people towards the book or Bible that they seek or "think" they need. There is no special degree or ordination required, but its a title that best describes what I do. I do have to note, that there are many times that if it were not for the work of Holy Spirit within me, I would not have been able to be of service.
Like many people in ministry, I find myself seeking a lot of God in order to be properly equipped to do what he has called me to do. It is a challenge to serve some people; there are times I perceive it is more difficult to serve Christians than anyone else who may not yet have a personal relationship with Christ. I pray for these people and many others as well.
There are times when the ministry I work within encounters challenges. It is of concern to me, especially since it is the only place that God has opened doors for me to work within (at least close to half-time). My other job is on-call, a humble job of serving as a ticket sales person and an usher ... as needed. Please note that I say "humble" because it is ill representative of the academic education, skills, and abilities God has allowed me to acquire within my lifetime. Nonetheless, I recently sought God about my concerns in the area of personal finances and he answered sooner than I expected, yet not as I expected for Him to do so. He spoke as He mostly speaks to me, through the impression of scriptures upon my heart and mind:
I have to confess that it feels odd that I am so concerned, yet I am encouraged by the Holy Spirit, that God has everything under control. More impressive, God still chooses to speak directly to me and through me, so that I may rest assured that He cares for me and desires for me to be at peace. I am both privileged and honored to have been chosen by God as one of the people who hears His voice in such a manner. Thanks God.
