Today I worked some, in the afternoon. Afterwards, I wanted to go somewhere and wind-down and nurture my spirit a little with Oswald Chambers. So I stopped by a fast food place, got my order and got comfy with my book, work log, and a notebook. However, at the place was someone from one of the Praise and Worship teams I used to play with. While at different tables, We both kept looking at each other, like we thought we knew the other, but not really sure. Finally, they finished their meal and walked up to me. Asked me if I was Robert, who used to play the trumpet? I said yes, and you, used to play a Bass or regular guitar? We did a check-in of what churches we are congregating with. They than did a shoot-out at me about having some marital troubles and to please pray for them ... they (individual person) had to go now because had to be at church for the prayer meeting at 7 pm. Gave them my card and that was that.
People are so weird with me, I don't see them for many years (in this case 13 years or so), and they do their shoot-out and ask me to pray for them; in many cases I don't see them again for several years. Ahhh ... I still pray for them though ... within minutes after they leave my presence. In any case, this is a continual lesson to me, that my independent studies in reading, writing, prayer (written, verbal, and song) are not in vain. God sees my heart, and sends me work so that I don't grow stagnant as well as encourage me to not stop ... "I have a different plan for you" says the Lord. Comments are closed.
