It is a few days before Christmas Day. People continue to hunt down the right gifts, attend festive gatherings, and participate in activities that commemorate the birth of Christ Jesus, the “"Anointed Savior"” for all mankind. Yet, to what degree of balance do they do so? Are they placing greater emphasis on festivities or are they placing it on Christ Jesus?
There is a certain joy that arises within the souls of mankind as they celebrate and serve Christ Jesus. There is something special that cannot be substituted by the temporary pleasures of giving or receiving the right gift, nor attending festive gatherings. For it is not a joy of emotions or thought, but a joy that arises from within the soul. There is no greater joy than to be at the center of God'’s will for one'’s life and serving Him in accordance to His calling. It is because of Christ Jesus that we can serve God, but also both praise and worship Him on our own or in the company of other believers in Christ Jesus. It is because of the love of Christ Jesus that I can sincerely desire a blessed “Merry Christmas” to all of you.
Let us remember that Christ Jesus came unto the face of the Earth, not by accident, but with a purpose. That purpose was all part of God’s great rescue mission for mankind’'s deliverance from the bonds of sin. Christ Jesus came down to Earth in the form that He could best associate with mankind, as a baby. As a baby, He could go through and experience full human development through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. He could relate to the challenges that all people face throughout their lives; because Christ Jesus experienced them as well. However, because He was in union with God the Father, He did not fall into sin, but overcame it. It is this union that assists believers in remaining sincere and faithful to Him.
Let Us Pray. God, thank You for Your master plan of sending Christ Jesus from heaven to Earth to set mankind free from the bonds of sin. His arrival was special then as much it is to me this day. God, please help me to be more active in sharing with others the “"Good News”” of Christ Jesus arrival to the face of the Earth. In addition, may His continual presence remain with me as I willfully embrace Christ Jesus within my heart. Amen.
