I have heard it said that a person does not know how much they miss someone until they are no longer there. Such may be the case when someone takes a trip for an extended length of time, someone moves to a far away place, or even passes away. In my case it has been the first case.
For a few weeks now, a person from a Bible study group had taken a trip for an extended length of time and distance. Although the reason for the trip was presented as a serious matter, a part of me did not realize the impact it would have upon my life. Through out the days that followed, a portion of my heart felt empty; sometime was missing. I struggled with this matter and used both reason and logic to resolve it, but to no avail. As the bible study group meetings continued, all I could do is remember this person (miss them) and keep them in prayer.
Through this experience, several lessons arose. One of the lessons regarded church. Although we are a small group, their is a connection and commitment that we hold towards each other. Such a union is maintained through prayer but kept alive through the Holy Spirit. Secondly, the lesson regards God's Spirit. At our last meeting with this person, the Holy Spirit both led and spoke to me scriptures of assurance to present to them. The Holy Spirit also showed me a vision of our prayers being transformed into a smoke that arose from the center of our meeting place and up into the heavens; as a pleasant fragrance unto God. Thirdly, there is a union amongst brethren of Christ that knows no boundaries. We spoke out both sincere and heart-felt prayers unto God. The Holy Spirit took a great part in bringing them out from our hearts and escorting them unto God. Our prayers continue with this person and the reason for their trip as well. God continue to hear and answers our prayers; even to this evening.
In closing, this person is back from their trip with good reports. As I saw them once again and heard their voice, my spirit leaped within me with joy. I shared with them that I missed them and the facets of their being that were missed. I perceived they needed to hear that and that I needed closer with it as well. It was well received both ways. God is faithful and true to His Word and to those who choose to continue to follow Him in Spirit and in Truth.
