In Luke 10, Seventy disciples were appointed by Jesus and ministered in groups of two at places He would soon visit. They accomplished great things by the authority Jesus had bestowed upon them. Yet, when they came back to Him rejoicing over these things, Jesus redirected their rejoicing to having their names "written in heaven." (v.20)
In our present society, too many times, people who do great and mighty things are placed on pedestals; even in Christian circles. It is a dangerous place to be and can lead to a fall that can break people. Though it goes against the flow of the current of our present society, we need to remember to remain low and humble at heart as we serve others; by the authority of Jesus. It will help us to keep our names "written in heaven". Comments are closed.
