Satan and God's Firewall

7/24/2017

Our lives are full of boundaries that dictate the extent to which we allow people to enter our lives.  Some of those boundaries entail the maintenance of our security system and its service in protecting our own lives as well as those for whom we hold close within our hearts. Such is the case that is with the boundaries we hold for the protection of our souls.

In Job 1:10-12, a challenge can be observed between God and Satan with regards to Job's fidelity in God.  The condition is, if Job were to be deprived of God's firewall, as well as some or all of the blessings that God had placed within his life and that of his family, would he remain faithful to God?  God allowed the challenge to be carried-out, but with a boundary, Satan could take all things from Job, except his life. It was a hard challenge for Job to live it out; he was not aware of the challenge that was taking place. In the end, Satan ended up taking everything within the established boundary and Job remained faithful to God.  Though Job was not informed of the challenge, God did restore many things that had been taken away from him, in abundance.

Like Job, we who have set our fidelity in God, through Jesus within our heart, are subject to be honored by God by His allotment of Satan to interfere within our lives.  Sometimes it is to demonstrate to Satan how proud He is of us for remaining in Jesus. Sometimes, Satan rains down on us with all his evil forces and demons because our work through Jesus, is posing a threat upon his work; he needs to interfere in order to accomplish his goals.  Other times, God wants to test us and observe the areas of our lives that need to be refined and strengthen.

Yet there are times that Satan shows up at our doors because we have not maintained our relationship with God through prayer, His Word, servitude, etc.. Consequently, our security system has begun to deteriorate and we have allowed diverse facets of sin to enter our hearts and gradually influence our lives as well as that of lives of whom we hold close to our hearts. We are in need of restoration of our wall ... we need to install God's firewall (Zechariah 2:5). Its boundaries are strong within the limits of God. Its strength is variant upon our fidelity to God.  Its protection can be extended to our family and those we hold close to our heart.

Let Us Pray.  God, You who are great and grand, I want to thank you for Your divine firewall.  It extends itself from the physical to the spiritual, and even to my family and those I hold near to my heart.  However, I need your help to keep the firewall maintained well.  So please send your Holy Spirit to help me to do so and remain faithful to you.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
