In a film, "Like a Thief in the Night", a young man is working at a zoo, doing maintenance of a cage box inside a reptile house. As he is working, a snake makes its way out of its cage box, which has been inadvertently left unlocked by someone. The snake comes to a rest near some of the tools and hardware that are being used by the young man. The young man is unaware of the snake's presence or place of rest, so without looking, he reaches out for a tool ... and the snake bites into his hand. The young man is taken to a hospital, and encouraged by a friend of his who works as a paramedic. However, once at the hospital, the doctor shares with other friends of this young man, that there is no serum for the type of poison that has entered his body, and there is little hope for his life. Nonetheless, help has been sought out from an older man, one who works with snakes and has been bitten many times; developed an immunity to different types of snake poison. It is the older man's blood that presents a hope for the life of the young man. The older man is transported by a set of police cars as well as by an airplane to the hospital where the young man lays in wait for his salvation. The older man arrives at the hospital on time, and his blood is able to save the young man's life.
Like the young man, many people go through their daily life with little sense of awareness within their surroundings. Through out the lifespan, bits of pieces of sin enter into the spiritual heart and accumulate to the extent of a deadly poison. Like the young man, we need help, and a serum that will extinguish the poison of sin. The sad thing is, that no matter the extent of your righteousness, religious rituals, nor blood sacrifice that you may involve yourself in, it is of no positive effect, the poison is still there. However, there is only one solution that can save us from the poison of sin, the blood of Christ Jesus. His blood is the only one that holds the power to wash away all sin. All that is required of you is to establish and maintain an active relationship with Christ Jesus. Let us pray. Dear God, You who are great and grand, I come before you in prayer and ask that Christ Jesus come into my spiritual heart and wash away all of my sins. I know I cannot do it on my own, I need help, I need Christ Jesus. Please help me to remain faithful to Him. I want to remain clean, so please help me to follow through in an active relationship with Christ Jesus. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. Comments are closed.
