Jesus said, "I am the Vine, you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him, bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me -- cut off from vital union with Me -- you can do nothing." John 15:5; Amplified Bible. Too many people try to do things from their own capacities. They don't think much about how the source of their efforts are tied to the spiritual aspects of one's being, or that of others for that matter. Such efforts may bring experiences of happiness, gladness, and laughter. Although they are good for the soul, they are temporal, perishable, and lack a solid foundation on which to stand on when the storms of life arise.
Sacred writings teach us that the "The Joy of the Lord [God] is my strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). He should be the foundation of our soul. Hence, let us remain in Jesus, (e.g. trust Him, wait on Him, be both renewed and restored by Him) and "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). Amen Comments are closed.
