Sometimes we "really" want to hear God reply to our prayer. So we do what we have to do to hear from Him. There are times when He may choose different means by which to do so. In this passage, I will share how God chose to lead me to His Word one evening. Then, the following morning He chose to project a vision of what is going on or is to come, within the spiritual realm.
The Beginning. In the evening, after having prayed briefly, God guided me into reading the start of the passage on spiritual warfare found in Ephesians 6:10. In light of my prayer, I recognized that no matter how much the manifestation of evil may present itself through people, they are not the enemy; the enemy is both sin and evil entities. In the morning, I got up from my bed briefly, then laid down once again. As I did so, a song about holiness was brought to mind and I began to sing it softly (“Holy Unto You” by Joel Chernoff). Then this song led me to a spiritual warfare song, based on Psalm 68:10 (“Call To War” by Dale Garrat); one of the lines states that “the chariots of God are tens of thousands”. This line kept pushing on me and I sang this part of the song several times.
The “Vision”. I found myself in a desert, near the edge of a cliff. Then I could see outside of myself, from an aerial view, I was alone in a mountainous region. Additionally, I could see a far-off, multitude of beings progressively moving towards my location. I could not tell if it consisted of caravans, herds of animals, or something else. However, as I continued to try to make out what the beings were, my vision was magnified to see that it consisted of evil entities, such as demons and creatures of sorts (Ephesians 6:12). I asked God for help.
Now, from a different setting and perspective, I could see angels in heaven, looking down at my location. I could hear them cheering me on, while other angels were giving out orders to get ready because the time was coming. Then my perspective was brought back to myself within the desert. This time I was verbally quoting scripture to assure me of God’s strength from within me. I then caught sight of the evil entities in the far distance, and I lifted my arms up to blow my small ram’s horn (shofar). I blew the ram’s horn, and I saw a brief image of “Chariots of God” that was followed by a feeling of a mighty wind rushing from behind me and by my sides. I could not see it, but I could feel it. I then “woke up” from my “vision”.
Reflection. I don't know the wholeness to the significance of this revelation. However, I do know that the God that I serve is both strong and mighty. God has written in the scriptures that He is committed to both serving and protecting us by His will for our lives. Furthermore, God has given instructions through His Word as to how to prepare and engage in a spiritual battle. Since I hold no certainty as to this revelation, I will prepare for battle by doing my part and leaving the rest to God.
I share this “vision” with you, with one intention, to encourage you to seek God. His manner of answering prayer is not always the same for everyone. Yet, you can rest assured that He will provide you with an answer, even if it may seem incomplete to your comprehension at the time. I encourage you to seek Jesus as your advocate. Furthermore, trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit with His role toward the answer of your prayer.
Let Us Pray. God, You who are great and grand, I want to say thank you for your revelation. Although I understand in part, I will continue to seek Your guidance through this time. I also ask that you encourage everyone who is presently engaged in a spiritual battle or even war. They can’t do it alone, but those that cry out to You, please empower them and deliver them. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
