the Humble Shepherds

Pastores Humildes

According to sacred writings, several shepherds arrived at the town of Bethlehem, the place from where King David was raised. The shepherds saw Joseph, Mary, and a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, laying in a manger. Everything they saw was as it had been told to them by an angel of God.

The shepherds returned to their field while they glorified and praised God the whole way back; so much that the people they encountered were both amazed and surprised by the things they had heard from the them.

Its true, the baby in the manger was Christ Jesus, meaning the "Anointed Savior" of God! He would be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace"! He would free God's People and the rest of the world from the bonds of sin.

Now a days, we remember the story of the birth of Jesus through movies, plays, and special church services. In this Christmas season, I encourage you to share God's gift of salvation with others.

Let Us Pray. God, thank You for the shepherds and for using them to announce Jesus' arrival into this world.  Like the shepherds, help me to share Jesus with others during this Christmas season. Amen.

Amen.

Note: The English translation is mine. However, the Spanish translation was a collaborate work of two friends (Antonio and Fernando) and myself.
